Let me take you on a journey. Lockdown introduced me to a few new things. Thanks to a review by YouTuber Swell Entertainment about a #kdrama called Business Proposal which cast includes Kim Sejeong and Ahn Hyo-seop and this introduced me to the world of Korean drama.

Some of the current Korean drama being aired are based on an existing webtoon.

What is a webtoon?

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a webtoon is defined as:

nounnoun: webtoon; plural noun: webtoons; noun: web-toon; plural noun: web-toons

  1. an animated cartoon or series of comic strips published online.”I’ve been following this webtoon for over a year”

Doctor Design

One of two common tropes within Korean drama is a medical drama. So what better way for a small business to re-think their marketing than with some creative surgery.

My graphic designer is a Gumiho

According to Wikipedia – A kumiho or gumiho (Korean: 구미호; Hanja: 九尾狐; lit.nine-tailed fox) is a creature that appears in the folktales of East Asia and legends of Korea. It is similar to the Chinese jiuweihu, the Japanese kitsune and the Vietnamese hồ ly tinh. It can freely transform into a beautiful woman often set out to seduce men, and eat their liver or heart (depending on the legend). There are numerous tales in which the kumiho appears, several of which can be found in the encyclopedic Compendium of Korean Oral Literature (한국 구비문학 대계/韓國口碑文學).

So what better way to add creativity than with the mythical Gumiho creating designs using their long lived experience.

Legally Creative

The second of the most common tropes within Korean drama is a legal drama. Get legally creative with your small business marketing.

The Artistic Prince

Who doesn’t like a historical costume drama, so why not have it based in the Korean Joseon period with a artistic Prince.

According to Wikipedia – Joseon[a] (English: /ˈtʃoʊsʌn/CHOH-sun; Korean: 조선; Hanja: 朝鮮; MR: Chosŏn; pronounced [tɕo.sʰʌn]; also romanized as Chosun), officially Great Joseon (대조선국; 大朝鮮國; [tʰɛ.dʑo.sʰʌn.ɡuk̚]),[18] was a dynastic kingdom of Korea that existed for 505 years. It was founded by Taejo of Joseon in July 1392 and replaced by the Korean Empire in October 1897. The kingdom was founded after the overthrow of Goryeo in what is today the city of Kaesong. Early on, Korea was retitled and the capital was moved to modern-day Seoul. The kingdom’s northernmost borders were expanded to the natural boundaries at the rivers of Amnok and Tuman through the subjugation of the Jurchens.
